Description

Along the canal lies the Patrician residence 'De 3 Cimbellen' featuring a spacious, private garden.

This unique and generously sized monumental house (434 m² living space) is located right in the centre on one of the most beautiful canals in Delft. It is a fine family home perfect for enjoying life, but also a house with all the allure for entertaining in style.
The house has a rich history with plenty of illustrious former residents. A whole host of exquisite details have been preserved in the house. In the (by city standards) very large garden, you will experience an oasis of calm.

The university city of Delft is famous the world over, in part thanks to its ties with Johannes Vermeer, Delftware and the Royal Family. Johannes Vermeer was a frequent guest in the residence at Voorstraat 19. The property is practically next to the famous Oude Kerk (Old Church), also called Oude Jan (Old John) or Scheve Jan (Crooked John). Charming outdoor cafés and shops are just a stone's throw away. All conceivable amenities are close to hand.

A PLACE WITH A WONDERFUL COMBINATION OF SPACIOUSNESS, CALM AS WELL AS HUSTLE AND BUSTLE.

The front of the house is impressive due to the extra-wide gabled façade with a richly decorated cornice five window sections wide. On the right side of the façade is the authentic front door with a beautifully carved Louis XIV frame that decorates the upper window.

You then enter the house through the spacious portal adjoining the long corridor. The arches, marble floor, high ceilings with ornamentation and impressive sculptural work are veritable eye-catchers. From the hallway, you reach the central hall, the garden room, the kitchen, the conservatory, the study and the toilet with a marble washbasin. You can then access the en suite room from the conservatory and the study.

The long corridor opens up into the garden room. This is justifiably the pride of place for the current owners: a large fireplace, wooden floor, gorgeous panelling (with the radiators hidden away inside) and a remarkably richly ornamental ceiling. The wallpaper was printed in France with the original patterns. French doors open onto the outdoor terrace and fantastic garden.

Halfway down the corridor you will find the central hall. Built around 1550, this is also the oldest part of the residence. Authentic Delft blue tiles on the wall, a handsome wood-burning stove, an extraordinary high wooden beam ceiling and a tall window overlooking the Oude Kerk make this room very special. You can also access the conservatory from this hall.

The conservatory is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the garden. Double French doors ensure that inside and outside merge into one another seamlessly. You can also the enter the en suite room and the kitchen from the conservatory.

The en suite room features its original partition, where you will find oak parquet on the floor and original window shutters in the front room. While the rear room features the original tiling. Both rooms are nicely sized in terms of width and are full of atmosphere.

The kitchen boasts a kitchen island with a 5-burner gas hob and all the appliances you could want. With sleek kitchen cabinets designed by Bulthaup, a marble floor and old white tiles on the wall. It is a tasteful mix of old and new. The window overlooks the garden. The adjoining utility room leads you to the outdoor terrace.

The study at the front of the house is a real focal point. It comes with an imposing, marble fireplace, ornamental ceilings and panelling with above it

wallpaper featuring original patterns printed in France. The original window shutters have also been preserved. A double door gives access to the en suite room.

BEAUTIFUL, ORIGINAL DETAILS ARE VISIBLE EVERYWHERE.

In the corridor, you'll find the stairs leading to the landing on the 1st floor. This floor also impresses with its stunning ceiling height. From here, you can reach the master bedroom, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, the utility closet and - through the built-in staircase - the 2nd floor.

The master bedroom is located at the back. The room comes with a wooden floor and French doors with a French balcony. From here you can enjoy expansive views of the garden.

The 1st bathroom is located next to the master bedroom. This modern bathroom features a bathtub, an extra-wide sink with a mirror, a walk-in shower and a suspended toilet.

On the front side, you will find three, large-sized bedrooms. These are lovely, bright rooms with views over the canal.

The 2nd bathroom is designed in a French style and comes equipped with a bathtub, a washbasin and a toilet.

The built-in staircase takes you to the 2nd floor. This large, open space is over 5 metres in height and has been used as a studio. The laundry and ironing room is also located here. This floor can be divided up as you see fit.

The basement floor has windows and beautiful vaulted ceilings. It is divided into compartments and is ideal for use as a wine cellar.

The walled-off and architecturally landscaped garden with a variety of wonderful trees is a sight to behold! It is a true oasis in the busy Randstad. There is a fantastic outdoor terrace where you can soak up the sun all day. Unique in its size in the midst of the city: over 30 metres long and more than 15 metres wide. The garden has a shed and a backdoor entrance via the (lockable) gate.

A HOME AND A GARDEN WITH FANTASTIC DIMENSIONS.
